Nestled amidst the serene beauty of the Black Forest, my stay at Hotel Sonnenberg was a mix of tranquility and disappointment. The sun terrace and sauna provided a soothing retreat, yet the impersonal digital key code system left much to be desired for a luxury experience. The outdoor chaise lounges and parasols offered a lovely spot to unwind, but the lack of staff interaction and the slight odor detracted from the serene ambiance. Despite the well-equipped spa featuring a hammam and sauna, the room's basic amenities and malfunctioning coffee machine were a letdown. The indoor pool and sun terrace with a view were a highlight, but the overall warmth of the room and average breakfast failed to impress. With a need for refurbishments to match its high pricing, Hotel Sonnenberg has an air of potential, but personal touches and improved services are essential for a truly rejuvenating stay.
